At the parish

Blessed Trinity Parish is at 3220 Bayview Avenue, a few minutes from the school, and a great many school families are parish families too. The parish runs a lot for children and youth that never reaches a school email — so it is collected here.

Everything on this page comes from the parish's own notices. blessedtrinityparish.ca is always the source, and the parish office answers at office@blessedtrinityparish.ca or 416-226-0262.

What's on

Mass times

Sunday

8:00 a.m. · 9:30 a.m. · 11:15 a.m. · 7:00 p.m.

The 9:30 is the one with children's liturgy, and the one most school families go to.

The 7:00 p.m. Mass is not celebrated on long weekends — that holds all year, not just in September. Morning Masses run as normal.

Through the week

Monday to Saturday at 8:00 a.m., and the Saturday vigil Mass at 4:30 p.m.

Confession is Saturdays from 3:30 to 4:10 p.m., or by appointment.

First Holy Communion and Confirmation

Registration for the 2026-2027 year closes on 19 October. Preparation is offered both at school and at the parish, but either way a child is registered through the parish.

  1. 1

    Pick the right programme

First Reconciliation and First Holy Communion starts in Grade 2, and children in Grade 3 and above who have not received the sacraments yet are encouraged to enrol too. Confirmation is usually Grade 7. If you are not sure, the parish office will tell you.

  2. 2

    Register before 19 October

Both forms are on the parish website. The deadline is the parish's, not the school's — the school cannot extend it or register a child for you.

  3. 3

    Go to the information session

For First Reconciliation and First Holy Communion it is on 14 November, and for Confirmation on 7 November. Both are obligatory — children are formally enrolled on completing the session, and the programme outline and books are handed out there.

  4. 4

    Watch for the parish's schedule

For First Holy Communion, Grade 2 classes run at your child's own school during school hours; Grade 3 and above meet at the parish on set Saturday mornings. Preparation dates, retreats and the celebration date all come from the parish once registration closes.

For children and youth

Liturgy of the Word for Children

Every Sunday during the 9:30 a.m. Mass, running since late September. The children go out for their own age-appropriate Gospel reading and come back for the rest of the Mass.

Kernel Culture youth night

For Grades 7 to 10, at the parish, run by Hopestone Catholic Formation — games, music and a popcorn bar. Free. Grade 11s can sign up as youth leaders instead. Register here.

Ways to help

The parish asks for two specific things at the moment, and both are small.

Children's liturgy needs leaders

To keep the Sunday programme running every week, the parish needs a few more adults — either leading a short lesson, or simply helping out once every four to six weeks. That is the whole commitment.

Email the parish's family life ministry at btfamilylife@gmail.com if you are even slightly interested.

Back-to-school help for families

The parish's St. Vincent de Paul conference helps low-income families with school costs — gift cards for supplies, computers, Ozanam grants and RESP top-ups.

The collection weekends have passed, but you can still pick up a grey St. Vincent de Paul envelope from the parish office, mark it "Back to School", and put it in the offertory basket or leave it at the office. Tax receipts are issued for gifts over $20.

There is more at the parish than these two — Get Involved lists the ministries, and Volunteering covers what the parish asks of its volunteers.

Note that the parish's volunteer screening is separate from the school board's. A cleared police record check for the parish does not let you volunteer at school, or the other way round — the board's side is under Volunteering in the quick links on the home page.
